Specialty farming presents many challenges.  The learning curve can be steep.  If you are a seasoned producer you will need to understand a variety of production methods, business management, processing or fabricating, distribution, marketing and sales for each specialty item you are producing.  If you are new to farm production then the knowledge needed is even greater.

We designed Farm Store to support producers with industry resources and to process the sales and marketing aspect of their business.  Often, after successfully producing, farmers lack easy access to the market or the key skills and resources necessary to promote their products.  Farm Store provides a community of support and no-fuss access to the broader retail market.  This service helps build an effective producer community and frees producers to focus on growth.

Farm Store also provides customers easy access to locally produced farm products. In a single location, customers can explore in-season products, local producers and unmatched quality.

WEGA is working in this sector to foster small business growth, improve industry expertise and cooperation, and improve overall accessibility.

Opening first at S. Perry Market is FARM STORE.

Products

Consumable goods produced from locally grown or raised ingredients.

Mass manufactured and mass distributed consumables are the staples of our everyday lives. Sometimes it’s nice to get things straight from the source, however. It is also nice to buy quality and know what hands prepared it. Plus, products direct from the source are often fresher and more unique. Farm Store celebrates the best of our region’s specialty farm producers and provides a shopping experience that is both convenient and easy.

Products and producers may change based on availability. Although any consumable product produced from local farm ingredients and meeting our quality standards can be sold at Farm Store, below are the categories most commonly available.
